It’s difficult enough for a girl to decide what to wear on her first date and then to think about make-up too- it can all get a bit too much.
Well don’t panic- here are a few helpful tips:
- It’s a good idea to keep your make-up looking natural and subtle on the first meeting with neutral shades to give you that natural glowy effect.
- Begin with applying a light moisturiser to your face and neck.
- Then apply your foundation, blending into the face and neck area to give a natural flawless look. Some good foundations to try are MAC’s Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation, Max Factor’s Miracle Touch Foundation, Benefit’s Non Fiction Foundation.
- For the eyes apply a light coloured eyeshadow over the entire lid area eg No.7’s Stay Perfect Eyeshadow in Wheatsheaf, MAC’s Eyeshadow in Shroom.
- Then apply a medium toned to the outer V of the eye and blend into the crease area. Good shades to use for this are MAC’s Eyeshadow in Wedge, Maybelline’s Eyeshadow in Chocolate Chic, Barry M’s Dazzle Dust in Fig.
- Then apply a highlighting eyeshadow along the brow bone eg Barry M’s Dazzle Dust in Gold Iridescent, Max Factor Eyeshadow in Pale Pebble.
- Line the water line and upper lashline using a black kohl pencil and blend along the line gently to give a smudge effect. Good kohl pencils to use for this are Max Factor’s Kohl Pencil, Barry M’s Kohl Pencil.
- Apply black mascara to upper and lower lashes. Try Elf’s Earth and Water Duo Mascara, Barry M’s Extreme Black Waterproof Mascara.
- For the cheeks use a pinky coloured blush to give that natural flushed look eg MAC’s Rose Beauty Powder in Summer Rose, Elf’s Shimmering Facial Whip in Persimmon.
- Line the lips with a lip liner pencil in a light neutral shade and apply a matching lipstick. Some suggestions Maybelline’s Moisture Extreme Lip Liner in Delicate Pink, Barry M’s Lip Paint in Pinkie Gold Sparkle.
- To finish off the look apply a lip gloss. Try Elf’s Super Glossy Lipshine Spf 15 in Pink Kiss.
And there you’re ready to go to the Ball!
