Red Lipstick
Anyone can wear red lipstick the key is to find the right shade to compliment your skin tone.
When wearing red lipstick it is best to play down the rest of your make-up and let your lips do the talking.
Apply a good foundation base to give you that flawless look, light eyeshadow and blush and lots of mascara to open up the eyes.
- To increase your lipsticks staying power and prevent it from bleeding apply a matching lip liner all over the lips.
- Apply your lipstick with a brush this will give a full and even coverage.
- Blot your lips with a thin piece of tissue but be careful not to smudge the lipstick.
- Dust your lips with a little face powder.
- Apply a second coat of lipstick.
Shades of Red Lipstick
There are many shades of red lipstick and different shades suit different skin tones- here are some suggestions:
- If you have an olive skin tone orangey reds will suit you best.
- If you have a fair cool skin tone cool blue based reds like wine will suit you best.
- If you have a fair warm skin tone warmer reds will compliment you more.
- If you have a yellow skin tone brown based reds will suit you more.
- If you have a dark skin tone dark burgundy reds will suit you.
If you still haven’t found the perfect red for you, you can buy a few shades and mix them to a shade of your own.
